After finishing these first two gouache paintings as practice for a painting class in 2022, I fell in love with drawing and painting mushrooms in my art.
I chose to study fairy ring mushrooms as my research focus for my studies in Natural Science Illustration class. Below you will see graphite studies of three different species that grow in a circular pattern (marasmius oreades, infundibulicybe geotropa, and calocybe gambosa), as well as two illustrations of fairy rings.
